Why Are You Receiving This Email From Talkpal?
If you’ve received an email from Talkpal and you’re not sure why, this article will help explain what may have happened and what you can do next.
Talkpal is an AI-powered language learning app that helps people practice over 130 languages through chat, roleplays, debates, and other interactive experiences. We only send transactional emails (such as account confirmations, password resets, subscription notices, and similar service messages) to the email address associated with a Talkpal account.
Why am I receiving emails from Talkpal if I don’t have an account?
There are a few common reasons this can happen:
- Someone else created a Talkpal account using your email address. This may have been done by accident or without your knowledge.
- Someone entered your email address by mistake when signing up for Talkpal, for example by mistyping their own address.
- Your email provider (e.g. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) reused your email address because it had been inactive for a long time, and the address was previously linked to a Talkpal account owned by someone else.
- You previously signed up for Talkpal (including through a free trial, social login, or a promotional offer) and may have forgotten.
- You subscribed through an app store (such as Apple App Store or Google Play) using this email address.
In each of these cases, our system is sending emails to the address on file because it is linked to a Talkpal account – even if that account wasn’t created by you.
What should I do if I’m receiving emails from Talkpal and I don’t have an account?
If you believe emails are being sent to your address in error, you have a few options:
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any promotional message. Please note that essential transactional emails (such as receipts or security notices) may continue to be sent to the address associated with an active account, as they are required to operate the service.
- Report the issue to our team so we can investigate and take appropriate action. You can reach us at support@talkpal.ai. Please include the email address receiving the messages and, if possible, a copy or screenshot of one of the emails you received.
- Request account deletion if an account has been created using your email address without your consent. Our support team can help verify ownership and remove the account in line with our privacy policy.
How do I know an email is really from Talkpal?
Legitimate Talkpal emails are sent from our official domain. If you’re ever unsure whether a message is genuine, do not click on any links or attachments. Instead, open the Talkpal app or visit our website directly and contact our support team to verify.
Talkpal will never ask you for your password, full payment card number, or other sensitive credentials by email.
We take email misuse seriously
