The present perfect tense in English indicates a link between the present and a time before now. In Thai grammar, however, tenses are not strictly used. The concept of present perfect correlates with the Thai phrase “แล้ว (laew)”, which is often seen in sentences that would use the present perfect in English. However, in Thai, the context and additional words are used to show the time frame instead of changing the verb form.
