Demonstrative Pronouns in Kannada are used to point out something specific within a sentence. They are similar to the English demonstrative pronouns, ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’ and ‘those’. In Kannada, the common demonstrative pronouns are ‘Ivu’, ‘Adu’, ‘Iva’ and ‘Ava’, which corresponds to ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’ and ‘those’ respectively. One must remember the pronouns must change based on the gender and number of the item being referred to.
