The study, published in the journal Language, Technology, and Social Media, followed university students over an 8-week period. The participants were divided into two groups: one using traditional learning methods and an experimental group using Talkpal for daily practice. The results were clear. Students using Talkpal showed a statistically significant improvement across all five key aspects of speaking: clarity, accuracy, fluency, vocabulary, and grammar. While traditional students improved, the Talkpal group’s progress was far more rapid and comprehensive.
Why did the AI tutor outperform traditional methods? The researchers highlighted that Talkpal’s ability to provide a personalized, interactive environment was key. Unlike a crowded classroom where students might feel shy or receive delayed corrections, Talkpal offers immediate, judgment-free feedback. This allows learners to practice real-life scenarios—from professional discussions to casual chats—without the fear of making mistakes. This study validates our mission: to make language fluency accessible, efficient, and engaging for everyone.
