Progressive - Slovenian Grammar

The Progressive Theory in Slovenian Grammar refers to the aspect of verbs that indicates an ongoing action in progress. In Slovenian, this is expressed through the use of the present tense of the auxiliary verb “biti” (to be) followed by the infinitive of the main verb and the ending -ndo. For example, “Jaz berem” means “I am reading.”

This form is used to describe actions that are happening at the moment of speaking or actions that are currently ongoing. It adds a sense of immediacy and continuity to the action. Additionally, the Progressive Theory can be used to express future actions that are planned or scheduled to happen. For example, “Jutri bom pisal” means “Tomorrow, I will be writing.”
