Perfect Progressive - Indonesian Grammar

Perfect progressive theory is an essential aspect of Indonesian grammar. It is used to describe actions that have been ongoing in the past, are still ongoing in the present, and may continue in the future.

To form the perfect progressive tense in Indonesian, we use the auxiliary verb “telah” or “sudah” with the verb “sedang” to indicate that the action is in progress. For example, “Saya telah sedang makan” translates to “I have been eating” in English.

The perfect progressive tense can also be used to describe an action that was ongoing in the past and has just been completed. In this case, we use the auxiliary verb “baru saja” with the verb “selesai.” For example, “Saya baru saja selesai mengerjakan tugas” translates to “I have just finished doing the assignment.”

It is crucial to learn the perfect progressive theory in Indonesian grammar as it allows us to accurately describe ongoing actions and events in the past, present, and future. Mastering this aspect of grammar enhances our ability to express ourselves fluently and precisely in the Indonesian language.
