Unlike English, Indonesian language does not use articles before nouns. This trait is referred to as a Zero Article rule in Indonesian grammar. While there are specific rules in other languages on the use of definite and indefinite articles, there is no such requirement in Indonesian grammar. Instead, context, adjectives, and/or other modifiers are often used to specify the noun in question.
