Possessive pronouns in Swahili grammar are used to show ownership or possession. They are often placed before a noun to denote whom or what the noun belongs to. They vary with the noun class of the noun in question and depending on the person who owns the noun – similar to English pronouns like “my”, “their”, “his”, “her”, etc. Learning these possessive pronouns is an essential step in mastering the Swahili language.
