Modal Verbs in Indonesian, commonly known as ‘Kata Kerja Bantu’ are auxiliary verbs that express necessity, ability, permission, or possibility. These verbs are always paired with the main verb in a sentence. Some common examples are ‘boleh’ (can, may), ‘harus’ (must), ‘dapat’ (can, to be able to), ‘mungkin’ (maybe, perhaps), ‘perlukah’ (should), ‘bisa’ (can, to be able to).
