Exclamatory Sentences in Icelandic grammar are typically used to express strong emotions or surprise. They often involve an exclamation point (!), although not necessarily. This part of Icelandic grammar allows speakers to express their amazement, happiness, anger, or other strong emotions. Like in English, these sentences can start with “What” or “How”, but in Icelandic, they start with “Hvað” or “Hvernig”. Exclamation sentences can also be a simple sentence with increasing tone inflection to indicate the exclamation.
