Demonstrative pronouns in Slovak grammar are essential to point at specific things or persons. They are the ‘pointing words’. These pronouns agree in number, case, and gender with the noun they replace. The Slovak language has three types of demonstrative pronouns: ‘toto’ (this), ‘tamto’ (that), and ‘ono’ (it). The pronoun changes according to the gender, number, and case of the noun it substitutes.
