Catalan, like many other languages, has a definite article (“the”) and an indefinite article (“a”, “an”). Both these articles change depending on the number, gender, and even the first letter of the noun they accompany. Understanding the use and applications of articles is vital for mastering Catalan grammar, thus, a series of exercises is typically designed to help learners grasp these fundamental aspects.

An exercise could be developed where learners are asked to assign the correct definite article to singular and plural, masculine and feminine nouns in given contexts.
