  3. Highlighting continuous actions interrupted by another action:

Negative and Interrogative Forms of the Past Continuous

To form negative statements in the Past Continuous, add the negation particle “емес” after the auxiliary verb “еді”:

Verb stem + -п тыр/п шық/п жат + еді + емес
