In Kannada grammar, conditionals are an important aspect that helps convey possible outcomes based on certain conditions. Conditionals are divided into four types: simple, present unreal, past unreal, and future unreal.

Simple conditionals, also known as real conditionals, are used to express hypothetical situations that are likely to happen. For example, “If it rains, then we will stay at home” is a simple conditional statement.

Present unreal conditionals, also known as counterfactual conditionals, are used to express hypothetical situations that are contrary to reality in the present. For example, “If I were rich, I would travel the world” is a present unreal conditional statement.

Past unreal conditionals, also known as counterfactual conditionals, are used to express hypothetical situations that are contrary to reality in the past. For example, “If I had studied more, I would have passed the exam” is a past unreal conditional statement.

Future unreal conditionals are used to express hypothetical situations that are contrary to reality in the future. For example, “If I win the lottery, I will buy a mansion” is a future unreal conditional statement.
