In Thai grammar, Uncountable Nouns, often referred to as ‘mass nouns’, are substances, concepts etc that cannot be divided into separate elements, and thus cannot be counted. They are usually things of which we could have a certain amount or quantity, but we cannot have one, two, three etc. Examples include “ข้าว” (rice), “ทราย” (sand), and “น้ำ” (water). Understanding how to use these uncountable nouns is a key part of learning Thai language.
