In the Serbian language, like in English, the Present Simple tense is used to talk about habits, facts, and general truths, while the Present Continuous is used to present the current ongoing actions or situations. The difference is in the way we construct these tenses. For the Present Simple, we use the root form of the verb, usually with the personal endings, while for the Present Continuous, we use the verb “to be”-“biti” in the present tense combined with the active participle of the main verb.
