Past Progressive Exercises For Persian Grammar

Past Progressive Exercise 1

The Past Progressive tense in Persian, also known as the Past Continuous tense, is used to depict an action that was in the process of taking place at a certain past point in time. The construction of this tense in Persian is somewhat different from English. In Persian, you form the Past Progressive tense by using the verb “بودن” (to be) in the past tense, and adding “داشت” (was having) before it. So, essentially, saying “I was reading” in Persian translates to “I was having reading”.
