Imperative Exercises For German Grammar

Exercise 1: Fill in the blank with the correct Imperative form of the verb in brackets.

In German grammar, the Imperative is used to express orders or commands. It could also be used to give advice, make suggestions or issue an invitation. With the Imperative, there is no need for a subject pronoun as it is understood that you are talking directly to someone. The verb in the Imperative is always in the first position. The conjugation generally uses the stem of verbs without any endings, but there are exceptions for verbs such as ‘sein’ and ‘haben’.
