Conditional sentences in Ukrainian grammar are used to express hypothetical situations or events that might happen. These sentences often consist of two clauses – the conditional clause (also called the “if” clause), which contains the condition, and the main clause, which states the consequence of the condition. Both clauses usually contain a verb in the “би” (bi) conditional mood, which can be formed by adding the “би” particle to the past tense. Let’s practice using the conditional mood in exercises below.
