Auxiliary verbs, also known as helping verbs, are used in Slovak grammar to create different tenses, moods, voices, or aspects. These are essential parts of a sentence structure which give more information about the time and mood of the main verb – completing its meaning. In Slovak, some of the most common auxiliary verbs include ‘byÅ„’ (to be), ‘maÅ„’ (to have), ‘mĆ“cÅ„’ (can), ‘musieÅ„’ (must), etc.
