Exercise Language: Tense Comparison

Being a Kannada grammar teacher, I place strong emphasis on recognizing and using correct tenses. Therefore, Tense Comparison Exercises, contribute significantly towards mastrey in Kannada grammar. These exercises allow students to practice and solidify their understanding of past, present, and future tenses, and their different forms like simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. For example, the present perfect tense is expressed as “Nanu pustakada bagege mahiti sikkidene” (I have learnt about the book), a sentence which displays the completion of an action.

Each tense portrays time reference in Kannada, a Dravidian language primarily spoken in the Karnataka Indian state. Active engagement in such exercises helps with transitioning between tenses, improving language fluency, enhancing verbal skills and comprehension. Moreover, it’s an excellent way for learners to familiarize themselves with common sentence structures. Encasing real-world situations in practice, adds a significant practicality to learning and facilitates the use of grammatically correct Kannada in daily conversations and writings. This, in turn, leads to better command and proficiency in the Kannada language.
