The Present Progressive tense in Swahili grammar defines ongoing actions happening at the time of speaking. It is formed by the root of the verb in conjunction with the present progressive prefix ‘na-‘, followed by an affix which indicates the subject of the sentence. The order of words in sentences does not change in the Present Progressive tense compared to other tenses in Swahili. The challenge lies in the proper conjugation according to the subject matter. This is what makes the development of this exercise so important. It aims to help students to better understand this tense, in order to communicate seamlessly and appropriately in Swahili.
