Ne ilmaisevat ehdollisia tilanteita, jotka riippuvat jostain toisesta seikasta. Ehdollisia konjunktioita, kuten ”if” ja ”unless”, käytetään ilmaisemaan, mitä tapahtuisi, kun tietty ehto täyttyy.
