Exercices sur les cas possessifs pour la grammaire anglaise

Les cas possessifs en anglais sont utilisés pour indiquer qu’un objet, une idée ou une personne « appartient » à quelqu’un. Ils s’expriment en ajoutant ’s (apostrophe + s) au nom du possesseur singulier, ou juste une apostrophe après les noms pluriels déjà terminés par -s. Pour les objets ou les idées, on peut aussi utiliser « of ». Les exercices suivants vous aideront à bien employer les différentes formes de possession en anglais.

Exercise 1 : Ajoutez la forme possessive correcte avec ’s ou l’apostrophe

3. The *students’* books are on the desk. (Indice : plusieurs étudiants, pluriel régulier, apostrophe après s)
4. The colour *of the car* is blue. (Indice : possession d’une chose, “of”)
5. Mark’s bag is new. (Indice : sac de Mark, nom singulier, ’s)
6. The results *of the test* are important. (Indice : possession abstraite, “of”)
7. The *women’s* meeting starts at noon. (Indice : pluriel irrégulier “women”, on ajoute ’s)
