It’s important to note that Chinese nouns generally don’t require an article to be grammatically correct. The absence of an article often implies a nonspecific or general meaning. For example, “我喜欢喝咖啡” (wǒ xǐhuan hē kāfēi) means “I like to drink coffee,” and there is no need for an article before “coffee.”

Overall, while not as extensive as in English, understanding the use of articles in Chinese grammar can help clarify whether a noun is specific or nonspecific.
