Wanneer je Engels<\/a> leert, kan het voorkomen dat je woorden tegenkomt die erg op elkaar lijken, maar heel verschillende betekenissen hebben. Dit kan verwarrend zijn, zeker als de woorden niet alleen qua spelling maar ook qua uitspraak op elkaar lijken. Hier verwijst perspective<\/b> naar het standpunt of de benadering van een kunstenaar met betrekking tot een aspect van zijn vakgebied.<\/p>\n

Wat betekent Prospective?<\/h3>\n

Aan de andere kant hebben we het woord prospective<\/b>. Dit komt van het Latijnse woord \u2018prospectus\u2019 wat vooruitzicht betekent. Prospective<\/b> wordt gebruikt om iets te beschrijven dat waarschijnlijk of verwacht wordt te gebeuren in de toekomst. Het kan ook verwijzen naar een persoon die waarschijnlijk of potentieel een bepaalde positie of rol zal innemen.<\/p>\n

In deze zin duidt prospective<\/b> op iemand die mogelijk de koper<\/a> van het gebouw zal worden.<\/p>\n

“Prospective changes to the law are being discussed by the government.”<\/b><\/p>\n

Hier wordt prospective<\/b> gebruikt om toekomstige wijzigingen in de wet te beschrijven die momenteel worden overwogen.<\/p>\n

Vergelijking en Gebruik<\/h3>\n

Hoewel perspective<\/b> en prospective<\/b> fonetisch vergelijkbaar zijn, is hun betekenis en gebruik heel anders. Perspective<\/b> heeft te maken met visie, standpunt of mening, terwijl prospective<\/b> gaat over toekomstige mogelijkheden of verwachtingen. Het is belangrijk om deze verschillen te herkennen om miscommunicatie te voorkomen.<\/p>\n
