Participles Exercises For Greek Grammar

Skill-up language fluency with grammar drills

In Greek grammar, Participles are a versatile structural element. They combine features of both verbs and adjectives and are thus considered the middle ground between these two. There are present, aorist, and perfect participles, each with active and passive Voice, and also a future active participle. Participles can take direct objects, be modified by adverbs, and take prepositions. They can show the gender, number, and case. Now, let’s focus on understanding them better with carefully crafted exercises.

Exercise 1: Fill in the missing Participles

Exercise 2: Fill in the missing Participles

“*Παίζοντας* (playing) ποδόσφαιρο, είναι πολύ ευτυχισμένος.”
“Ο γιος μας *διδάσκεται* (being taught) πλέον Αγγλικά από έναν ιδιαίτερο καθηγητή.”
“*Τρώγοντας* (eating) πίτσα, παρακολουθούσαμε την ταινία.”
“Μετά *από ολονυκτία* (having stayed up all night), δεν μπορούσα να ξυπνήσω.”
“*Γράφοντας* (writing) τη μελέτη, καταλάβαινα όλο και περισσότερα.”
