分詞は、英語文法において重要な役割を果たします。これは動詞の一種で、形容詞のように動作や状態を説明する際に用いられます。現在分詞は動詞の原形に-ingを付けた形で、進行形や原因・方法・状態を説明する際に使われます。一方、過去分詞は動詞の過去形に-edを付けた形(不規則動詞は特別な形)で、完了形や受動態、形容詞的な使い方をする時に使われます。
